Spoiler alert
Marvel movies are always highly anticipated, and the recent Dr. Strange movie is not an exception. It came out after the Spiderman: No Way Home movie, and everyone was wondering what would happen next in the MCU. As expected, it was mind-boggling and definitely worth the 126 minutes. Check out this article for what makes Dr. Strange a movie to watch!
Dr. Strange shows us what the multiverse looks like

The movie is called Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness for a reason. Dr. Strange travels through a good number of universes in the multiverse, giving viewers a long-awaited glimpse of what it looks like.
These are just some of the universes shown in the movie:
- Robotic Universe
- Earth 616
- Dinosaur Universe
- Paint Universe
- Cube Universe
- Earth 838
Each and every one of them has defining features… and their own Dr. Strange.
Which brings us to the second reason why Dr. Strange is a movie watch.
The Multiverse of Madness shows us multiple variants of Dr. Strange

If you thought having three Spidermans was fun, get a hold of the variants of Dr. Strange. There are a total of six (!!!) Dr. Strange variants in the movie. However, some of them were more fleshed out than the others.
Of course, we have classic Dr. Strange, who is from Earth 616. Then we have Zombie Strange, who was monumental in the shift of the movie. Defender Stranger died at the beginning of the movie, and Sinister Strange was, well, sinister.
It’s all really fun to watch!
Dr. Strange meets America Chavez

America Chavez is a powerful young lady who is sometimes referred to as Ms. America. In the comics, she was part of several teams like Young Avengers, which means that she will eventually become important to the MCU.
In fact, she is already central to the story of this movie, as much of the theme revolves around Dr. Strange trying to save her life from the villain.
And who is the villain, you may ask?
The Multiverse of Madness sees Wanda become a villain

Spoiler alert!! At the end of WandaVision, people thought that Wanda had already achieved peace. Sure, she was an anti-heor throughout the series, but she came to her senses right?
Wrong.
In Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, we see Wanda desperately longing for the life she had in WandaVision. This made her unreasonable as she lashed out at the people who got in the way of her and her kids from another universe.
The Multiverse of Madness shows us another side to Dr. Strange

Nope, we’re not talking about the variants here. We’re talking about our original Dr. Strange himself.
For the past movies, we’ve seen Dr. Strange as a brilliant and logical sorcerer. Sure, he has his quirks, but he’s mostly level-headed and calculated. Remember Endgame, when he knew Tony Stak had to die for the rest of the world to be restored? Or in Spiderman: No Way Home, when he erased the world’s memory of Peter because it was logical?
Well, in the Multiverse of Madness, we get to see an emotional Dr. Strange as he longs for his ex. Not to give away too much, but he loves her in every universe.
Who knew Dr. Strange could be such a romantic? To see that in itself probably makes Dr. Strange a movie to watch already.
Dr. Strange Meets The Illuminati

We’re not talking about the controversial Hollywood Illuminati that no one knows if they exist. We’re talking about the Illuminati from the Marvel comics.
The Illuminati is a secret organization in the Marvel universe, made up of the world’s most powerful heroes.
The best part is that we get to see Patrick Stewart returning as the great Professor X. And as you can see from the image, we have John Krasinki playing Mr. Fantastic and Peggy as Captain America.
Yet again, another big reason that makes Dr. Strange a movie worth the watch.
There are several big battles in Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

One of the most interesting battles is Dr. Strange fighting Dr. Strange. This variant showdown happens with a lot of musical notes, playing against an opera soundtrack. We’ve never seen anything like it before in the MCU, and we probably won’t see anything like it again.
There is what they call the Battle of Kamar Taj, where Wanda fights while still in the Mirror Dimension. She also has that fight against the Illuminati, wherein she brutally kills members of the team.
There’s even a fight between Zombie Strange and Wanda, which was weird yet powerful.
If you want superhero action, you definitely need to watch Dr. Strange.
Dr. Strange is the MCU’s most thrilling movie yet

Many fans and critics say that Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the closest the MCU has gotten to a horror movie. We’re talking sorcery and witchcraft, zombies, a lot of graphic deaths, and a third eye.
It is definitely not for the faint of heart.
Dr. Strange is a movie that sets up the future of the MCU, which makes it a must watch

So many things happened in the Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness movie that people who don’t watch it would have a lot of gaps.
It’s set up as a prequel to the next MCU movies, after all. Much of what fans know about the multiverse is anchored in this movie, and we can expect the multiverse to be a primary plot element moving forward.
Conclusion: If you follow the Marvel Universe, you must watch Dr. Strange

I don’t intend to write this like a reaction paper on Dr. Strange, with a conclusion and all. But this is an important final note.
As we mentioned earlier, Dr. Strange is somewhat of a horror movie. However, it is not a standalone.
The movie has so many elements that fans would love, but first time watchers would probably be at a loss. Will they still enjoy it? Sure. But they won’t be able to appreciate the nuances and details like fans do.
So, if you are a fan of the MCU, you must watch Dr. Strange. If not, well, you could at least try watching it to see what Marvel has to offer.
