The summer movie season is here, which means we’re in for a slew of big-budget blockbusters. But not every movie can be a winner. In fact, some are downright terrible. Here are a few warning signs that a movie is going to suck
Lack of star power:
A surefire sign that a movie is going to be terrible is a lack of star power. If the cast is filled with unknowns or has-beens, chances are the movie is going to be a dud.
Poor marketing
Another red flag is poor marketing. If a movie’s trailer is bland or unappealing, it’s likely that the movie itself will be just as uninspiring.
Bad reviews:
Of course, one of the best indicators that a movie is going to be terrible is bad reviews from critics. If the movie is being panned by those who’ve seen it, chances are you should give it a miss.
Unoriginal or clichéd plot
Finally, a movie is likely to be terrible if it has an unoriginal or clichéd plot. If you’ve seen it all before, chances are you won’t be impressed.
Bad acting
Another sign of a movie that’s going to suck is bad acting. If the performances are wooden or stilted, it’s a good bet that the movie will be a flop.
Unrealistic special effects
One last warning sign is unrealistic special effects. If the CGI looks cheap or the action sequences look fake, it’s a good indication that the movie isn’t going to be any good.

Another sign that a movie is going to be terrible is if it follows a formulaic story structure. If it feels like you’ve seen it all before, chances are you have. And you’re not going to want to see it again.
