The series is split into two parts, with Part 1 released on Netflix on December 30, 2022, and Part 2 following on March 10, 2023. The show has received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, with an impressive IMDb rating of 8.1/10 based on over 14K user ratings.

The Characters are Powerful

The show is a stunning exploration of the impact of bullying on the victim and the consequences of such behaviour. The Glory’s writer, Kim Eun-sook, is known for her ability to create strong female leads, and she does not disappoint with this series. Moon Dong-eun is a multifaceted character whose determination to seek justice is fueled by her past trauma. Song Hye-kyo’s portrayal of Dong-eun is powerful, and the actress does an excellent job of conveying the character’s pain and her drive for revenge.

One of the standout aspects of The Glory is the series’ supporting cast. Lee Do-hyun shines as Joo Yeo-Jeong, a charming and dangerous character. Lim Ji-yeon also delivers an impressive performance as Park Yeon-jin, a character who plays a critical role in the show’s storyline. Yeom Hye-ran, Park Sung-hoon, and Jung Sung-il also deliver memorable performances, adding depth to the series characters.

The Cinematography: Beautiful and Emotional

The series’ cinematography is also stunning, with beautiful shots of the South Korean countryside and urban areas. The show’s use of colour and lighting adds to the series’ emotional impact, conveying the characters’ struggles and the weight of their actions.

The Themes: Revenge, Justice, and the Consequences of One’s Actions

The Glory’s themes of revenge and justice are complex and thought-provoking. The series explores the idea that revenge does not necessarily bring closure and that seeking justice can have unintended consequences. It also examines the impact of bullying on the victim and how it can shape their lives for years to come.

The show’s storyline is gripping, and the elaborate revenge scheme that Dong-eun puts in motion is both fascinating and terrifying. The series keeps the audience on the edge of their seats as they watch the intricate plan unfold and wonder what the consequences will be.

The series’ exploration of revenge and justice is not limited to its main storyline. The show also delves into the personal lives of its characters, examining the consequences of their actions and the decisions theymake.

It examines the effects of violence on the victims and how their experiences influence their views on revenge and justice. It also looks at how bullying can cause long-term psychological damage and how it can lead to a cycle of violence and trauma. Ultimately, the show raises important questions about the nature of justice, revenge, and morality and how they relate to one another.

The show also highlights the idea that justice is not always served in the way that the characters expect or desire. It shows how a person’s efforts to seek revenge can have unintended consequences, often leading to further violence and suffering.

It emphasizes that sometimes justice is not served in the traditional sense, but instead achieved through other means such as understanding, forgiveness, and reconciliation. The series also encourages viewers to consider their own moral values and how they might respond to similar situations. Ultimately, the series encourages viewers to think about the complexities of justice, revenge, and morality, and how they interact with one another in the real world.

My opinon on the glory

Here are some of the things that I liked about the series Glory:

  • The acting was top-notch. Song Hye-kyo gave a powerhouse performance as Moon Dong-eun. She was able to convey the character’s pain, anger, and determination perfectly.
  • The writing was sharp and suspenseful. The plot was well-paced and the twists and turns were unexpected.
  • The directing was stylish and atmospheric. The director did a great job of creating a sense of tension and suspense.

Here are some of the things that I didn’t like about the series Glory:

  • The pacing was a bit slow at times.
  • The series could be a bit too melodramatic.
  • The series did not offer any new insights into the topic of revenge.

Overall, I thought The Glory was a good series. It was well-acted, well-written, and well-directed. I would definitely recommend it to fans of revenge dramas

However, there were some aspects of the series that could have been improved. For example, some of the characters could have been developed better and the story could have been more compelling. Furthermore, the visuals could have been more engaging and the climax could have been more engaging. All in all, The Glory was a great series and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a thrilling revenge drama.
