As a brand ambassador for comic con, I have been lucky enough to get to attend a few of the conventions. What’s even better is that they do an amazing job at giving back to the community and creating events that allow people from all walks of life come together and celebrate their fandom. Here are some tips on how you can make your next trip to Comic Con even more exciting!
What is comic con?
Comic Con middle east is a convention that celebrates comic books and related popular arts, taking place in Abu dhabi UAE. It’s used as a platform for artists, writers, and fans to explore their interests in comics, film, television, animation and games. You can find cosplayers dressed up as their favorite characters from movies or TV shows like Star Wars or Game of Thrones walking around the convention floor looking at all the artists’ booths selling prints of their work or getting sketches done by them!
If there’s anything I learned from this experience it’s that everyone has their own definition of fun when they go to Comic Con (or any other convention). For some people it might mean meeting celebrities while others might just want to take pictures with cosplayers dressed up as your favorite character from movies/TV shows such as Star Wars or Game Of Thrones!
How did I get invited?
I was invited by the brand ambassador program, which is an exclusive group of people who are passionate about comics and entertainment. It’s a very unique opportunity to experience comic con from a different perspective, and I’m so grateful to have been asked to be part of it!
What surprised me most about this experience was how much more than I expected it would be. Every day brought new surprises: from meeting new people at events like our costume contest (I got to meet some amazing cosplayers!) or having lunch with friends at their favorite restaurants in Abu Dhabi –there were so many fun moments throughout my trip that made me feel like part of something bigger than myself. The best part?
My first time
I’ve never been to Comic Con before. As a brand ambassador for the event, I was given all sorts of things to do and see, but I chose to experience it as a normal attendee would. I wanted to get lost in the crowds and explore what this world had to offer me.
I started off my day by getting up early and going down with my friends who were also volunteering at Comic Con. We had breakfast together before heading out into the madness that is comic Con
. Once we got there, I had no idea where to even begin. There were so many people, and it was hard for me to even move around without bumping into someone. But after walking around aimlessly for a bit and getting used to the crowd, I started noticing more things about this world that I hadn’t seen before.
I noticed the amount of cosplayers there were and how many different types of costumes they had. There were all sorts of different characters, from superheroes to villains and even Disney princesses. The amount of creativity that went into each costume was astounding, especially when you consider how many people were there wearing them.
The atmosphere at Comic Con was incredible. It was like stepping into another world, where everyone accepted each other for who they were and what they liked. There were no judgments here, only love for the things that brought people together. I loved being surrounded by so many people who shared my interests and passions.
