Trust us, you won’t want to miss out on this masterpiece. As an anime enthusiast, I appreciate the phenomenal storylines crafted by the creators. For example, anime like One Piece is one of the longest-running series and is loved by many at this very moment. The plot takes a long time to develop, but sometimes we need to notice the negatives. Let’s dive into a review of Hello World.
Introducing Characters

Hello World starts with Katagaki Kun (Naomi), a shy young teen with no friends at all. He is awkward, an avid reader, and reminds me of myself in many ways. As the main character of the anime, we can see him building confidence throughout the story.

Our second main character, Ichigyou, is a strong, smart, and grumpy female who enjoys reading. She doesn’t like long conversations and prefers to read during her free time. However, after meeting Naomi, she becomes more innocent and realizes she loves him. And of course, there’s Ruri, a high school student and one of the main leads in the story.
What I Think of This Anime

The world-building in Hello World is beautiful and engaging, creating a dizzying sensation that makes me want to keep watching. The gradually building romance between the two main characters is adorable, with the anime consisting of two distinct parts. The first part is visually stunning, but the second part becomes confusing.
Part 1: Amazing World Building and Interesting Story

The first part is reminiscent of Orange, with the critical difference being that the future main character time travels instead of sending a letter. Future Naomi meets his present self in hopes of changing the future, making the story engaging and pacing the ending well. The romance between Naomi and Ruri starts off as enjoyable, but the rest of the story doesn’t make sense.
Part 2: Confusing Sci-fi Action

This part focuses on the future, but unfortunately, it doesn’t make sense, and the plot declines as the movie progresses. It transitions from a beautiful beginning to a confusing sci-fi action flick, which is a shame.
Art and Sound
The animation in Hello World is excellent, with a mix of 2D and 3D elements. However, there are times when it falters. The soundtrack, on the other hand, is exceptional and features a great opening song that I love.
My Opinion

I believe this anime shows that mistakes can happen, and if it were turned into a series, it would be interesting to see how the characters evolve. While the second half of the anime is
confusing and somewhat disappointing, the first half is enjoyable and holds promise. My rating for Hello World is a 6.9/10, mostly due to the strong first half. On other platforms, the anime has received the following ratings:
- Anime List: 7.8/10
- IMDb: 6.9/10
